We're looking for recurring themes to add to this Frequently Asked Questions list. If you have questions, please email us at info@gWhizMobile.com. Thanks!

1) What BlackBerry phone models do you support?

We currently support phones running the 4.2 and 4.3 operating systems. This includes the Pearl, Curve, and World Edition phones.

However, there are some phones at these OS levels that do not have a separate "MENU" key, e.g., the 8700. For these phones, simultaneously press the "ALT" and trackwheel to see the menu options.

If you are having trouble running the application, please send an email to info@gWhizMobile.com. Please include your phone model number, operating system, service provider name, and also let us know whether you're running BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

2) The pre-installed gFlash+ flashcards work fine, but I can't load additional cardsets from either my Gmail account or the gWhiz Catalog.

We have noticed this on phones in weak/intermittent data coverage areas. The capability is restored when in an area better covered by their wireless service provider.

We have also noticed this symptom on phones previously configured with BlackBerry Enterprise Service now running BlackBerry Internet Service. Some customers have successfully added cardsets after backing up their device and wiping it clean (i.e., Security Options, General Settings, press the MENU key, select Wipe Handheld). Again, this is recommended only after confirming you have completed a full back up of your device. Please see the User Guide for your phone at www.blackberry.com for details.

3) Your Terms & Conditions refer to collecting information from my phone. What is that for?

We're collecting phone and operating system version, so we know what devices are successfully running the application. This helps us isolate issues and support users that are having trouble. We are only focused on our application and do not know anything about other applications on a device. Our Terms and Conditions do say we may collect GPS information. We're not actually doing that now but we've prototyped an application that uses GPS information to better support study groups. You can see a demonstration of this on our website on the "Demo" page titled "Android Demo". You may also notice these T&Cs are very similar to those of other mobile application providers such as Google, Yahoo, and Apple.

4) Does gCalc support an equation for a circle, e.g., x^2 + y^2 = r^2?

Currently gCalc supports equations with one independent variable of the form y=mx+b, y=ax^2+bx+c, y=sin(x), etc. However, we are using customer feedback to define the requirements for the future releases so please let us know what you would like to see next.mailto:info@gwhizmobile.com?subject=Questionmailto:info@gWhizMobile.comhttp://www.blackberry.comshapeimage_4_link_0shapeimage_4_link_1shapeimage_4_link_2
